Bet on cricket at zeet baj — BPL, IPL and international matches
A complete guide to cricket betting markets across every format from T20 to Test, how to read odds, and live in-play betting — all in one place.
The three formats of cricket and popular tournaments
T20
This twenty-over format is the most popular among fans in Bangladesh. Leagues like BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and IPL are built on T20. Rapid wicket falls and big scoring mean odds shift quickly with every over, keeping the betting action moving.
ODI
The fifty-over one-day format combines strategy and patience. ICC tournaments and bilateral series offer plenty of ODI betting opportunities. Every match the Tigers play is especially significant for bettors in Bangladesh.
Test
The longest format, played over five days, offers the greatest variety of markets. Innings-by-innings statistics, the possibility of a draw, and pitch conditions all influence the odds. Experienced bettors consider Test markets the most analytical.
BPL draws the most interest from local bettors as Bangladesh's own franchise tournament. Bangladeshis also follow IPL closely and support their favourite Indian sides, while Bangladesh Tigers matches in the T20 World Cup attract bettors from across the country. Football and other sports betting are covered in a separate section below.
Betting on football and other sports
Football is almost as popular as cricket in Bangladesh. Betting on World Cup, Euro or club league matches works a little differently from cricket, because a draw is a common result in football, whereas in cricket — especially T20 and ODI — there are only two outcomes: win or lose. Football therefore normally uses a three-outcome market (1X2), while Test cricket adds the draw option.
Sports like kabaddi, badminton and tennis have relatively fewer markets, but match winner and handicap markets are available for most of them.
Markets from multiple sports together — understanding the differences in betting types is important for new bettors.
Popular cricket betting markets
Understanding each market separately makes decisions easier. Below is a brief introduction to seven common markets.
Match Winner
You bet on which team will win the match. For example — Team A and Team B are playing. You pick Team B; if Team B wins, you receive a payout.
Simplest marketToss Winner
You bet on which team will win the toss before the match starts. The result is decided quickly. For example — if Team A wins the toss, your bet is successful.
Quick resultTop Batsman
You bet on which batter will score the most runs for their team. You pick a batter from Team A; if they score the most runs, you win.
Player-basedTotal Runs Over/Under
You bet on whether the total runs in the match will be above (over) or below (under) a set number. It helps to consider pitch conditions and the batting order.
Runs-basedMulti Bet
Combine multiple selections into one bet. If all selections win, you receive the full payout. If even one loses, the entire bet is lost — see the odds section below for details.
Bigger payoutNext Wicket Market
In in-play betting, you bet on which over the next wicket will fall in, or who will be dismissed. The ability to make quick decisions is useful here.
Live marketIn handicap and over/under markets, the margin of runs or wickets is the deciding factor — one team's advantage is mathematically adjusted so that the odds for both sides stay close to each other. See all markets on zeet baj Bet.
How to read and understand odds
There are three common odds formats in cricket betting — decimal, fractional and American. The same value for the same team is written differently in each format, but the meaning is the same.
Example 1 — Team A (underdog)
Decimal 3.00 = Fractional 2/1 = American +200. On a ৳500 bet, if Team A wins you receive ৳1,500 (৳1,000 profit + ৳500 original stake). If they lose, you lose ৳500.
Example 2 — Team B (favourite)
Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400. American minus odds show how much you need to stake to win ৳100. On a ৳500 bet, if Team B wins you receive ৳625 (৳125 profit).
Multi bet example: If three separate selections have odds of 1.40, 1.50 and 1.80, the combined odds are 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.80 = 3.78 (approximately). On a ৳100 bet, if all three win you receive ৳378. But if any one of them loses, the entire ৳100 is lost.
In-play betting — odds shift with each wicket
In-play or live betting means placing bets while a match is ongoing. In cricket, odds change instantly with every wicket or at the end of a powerplay. If a team loses three quick wickets, their odds of winning will lengthen and the opposition's will shorten.
In T20, a run burst in the final five overs causes over/under markets to move rapidly. In ODI, a rise or fall in the run rate during the middle overs creates opportunities in wicket-over combination markets. In Test cricket, if a fifth-day pitch becomes difficult for batters, innings-by-innings markets reflect that.
There is less time to decide in live betting. Keep your overall budget in mind before placing a bet and follow the responsible gaming guidelines.
Useful tips for cricket betting
Understand the format first. The odds structure differs between T20 and Test. The same budget covers more markets in T20, but match-winner odds in Test cricket tend to stay stable for longer.
Stick to your budget. Set a separate budget for each match and do not go beyond it. Betting is a form of entertainment, not a source of income.
Be careful with multi bets. More selections mean more risk. Start with two or three selections in a multi bet.
No rushing in live betting. Odds can move fast, but keep a level head. One wicket falling may not necessarily change the whole direction of the match.
Read the rules. Different markets have different rules. Before you start betting, check the terms and conditions once so there is no confusion.
Smart betting means planned betting
Winning and losing are both part of it. Treating betting as entertainment makes for a better experience.
